Commission of Inquiry into the Child Safety System
Queensland's Child Safety Commission of Inquiry began on 1 July 2025, tasked with investigating Queensland's child protection system. The terms of reference lists the issues the Commission will look at in the course of the inquiry, including the existing legislative framework, models of care, complaints, early intervention, and how families and children in the system are treated. While originally planned to run until November 2026, the Commission's reporting date has been brought forward, and its final report is due to be provided to the Queensland Government by 22 May 2026.
Over the course of the inquiry, we have contributed through responding to public calls for submissions, providing data and other information in response to requests from the Commission, and appearing at public hearings to provide evidence for the inquiry to consider. Our public submissions are available below.
