This report shares the voices of young people with lived experience of the care system.
It was informed by a direct consultation held in Kingaroy in June 2025 with 11 young people. Their voices echo what we have heard time and again: that bold reform is needed, that young people must be part of the decisions that shape their lives, and that their journey into adulthood should be supported over time.
What we heard in Kingaroy mirrors what was raised at the Caboolture workshop just a month earlier in May 2025, and it aligns with what young people continue to say across Queensland.
