The Child Death Review Board's Annual Report includes information about the Board’s operations, research, systemic findings and recommendations made to improve the child protection system and mechanisms to prevent child deaths.
In the 2020–21 report, the Board reviewed 55 cases relating to the death of children and young people who were connected to the child protection system.
The government carefully considers the report and its recommendations. While not a statutory requirement to do so, for transparency and accountability, the Queensland Government considers it is important to publish a response to actions being taken to implement the Board’s recommendations.
