This document is intended to comply with the requirements of the Public Interest Disclosure Act 2010 (the PID Act) and the standards published by the Queensland Ombudsman in its capacity as oversight agency. 

The Commission is committed to fostering an ethical, transparent culture. In pursuit of this, the Commission values the disclosure of information about suspected wrongdoing in the public sector so that it can be assessed and where necessary, investigated. The Commission will provide support to an employee or others who make disclosures about matters in the public interest. This document is intended to comply with the requirements of the Public Interest Disclosure Act 2010 (the PID Act) and the standards published by the Queensland Ombudsman in its capacity as oversight agency. 

By complying with the PID Act, the Commission will:

  • Promote the public interest by facilitating public interest disclosures (PIDs) of wrongdoing
  • Make sure that PIDs are assessed and, where appropriate, investigated and dealt with
  • Appropriately consider the interests of subjects to PIDs
  • Make sure protection from reprisal is given to persons making PIDs.
