  • Child Safe Standards
  • Reportable Conduct Scheme

Our Information sharing guideline supports reporting entities and sector regulators to understand the framework and practice of sharing information under the Child Safe Organisations Act 2024 (Qld).

The guideline provides practical guidance on information sharing to both meet obligations under the Child Safe Standards and Reportable Conduct Scheme and to safeguard children wherever they are.

The guideline explains:

  • the principles to be applied to decisions about disclosing information in a child-focused, proactive, timely and collaborative way
  • what kinds of information can be shared
  • how to use information sharing powers to support concurrent and complex investigations
  • the protections that exist in the Act to give entities the confidence to share information
  • limitations on information sharing and how laws about privacy, human rights and right to information apply to relevant safeguarding information.
