We have released a report into the experiences of children and young people who have been suspended or excluded from Queensland state schools. By amplifying their voices, we aim to advocate on their behalf for alternative, more effective approaches to school discipline that do not disrupt students’ experiences of quality education. There is a growing recognition of the critical role that children and young people play in providing unique insights into their own lived experiences — insights that provide alternatives to the adult-centric nature of the systems that children engage with.
