Research & policy

As part our work to improve the child and family support system, the QFCC is responsible for:

  • identifying areas of research need and making research findings more accessible to help inform policy and practice
  • providing leadership and expert advice about laws, polices, practices and services
  • advocating for the safety and wellbeing of children across Queensland.

Research is very important to us. We’ve worked with stakeholders and agencies to develop a Research Agenda, we produce regular research scans and summaries, and we also run bi-annual Research in the Round forums and Regional Research Roundtables.

Advocacy is another area where we create positive change across the sector. We engage with various stakeholders to make recommendations about laws, policies, practices and services concerning the wellbeing of Queensland children and young people.
