Career Promotion Campaign

Work where your story makes a difference

The child and family support sector is made up of services that provide a range of supports and promote the rights of children, young people and families in Queensland.

Through a variety of roles, you can help to improve the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people and families. People with cultural knowledge, lived experience and the right skills help children and families with health advice, mentoring, living skills, family counselling and other supports.

Check out the campaign video to hear from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff helping to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people and families reach their full potential.

We are committed to ensuring we have a child and family support sector workforce that reflects our communities and harnesses the strengths of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Over 96% of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children live with their families. This means that a great amount of support and safety is offered from within a child’s family and community.

However, there are families who struggle and there is an overrepresentation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in out-of-home care. We need Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees in the sector to provide skills, knowledge and cultural expertise to improve and deliver services that help children, young people and families to thrive.

Could you help build a better future for kids?
