The QFCC hosted another successful Research in the Round event in March focusing on improving youth mental health. Informative presentations by experts in the field were complimented with a panel discussion with professionals, researchers and young people exploring the topics discussed.
The attendees heard from three prominent professionals in the field of youth mental health – two academics, Professor Brett McDermott and Dr Sarah Bendall, and the co-founder and co-CEO of Project Rockit, Ms Lucy Thomas OAM.
The presentations were explored in deeper meaning and practice through panel discussions with the presenters and four other people in the field – Dr Leanne Geppert from the Queensland Mental Health Commission, Ms Denise Wilson from headspace, Mr Clinton Schultz, a registered Psychologist and QFCC Youth Advisory Council member, Caroline.
The Research in the Round forums will continue throughout 2019, continuing the topic of youth mental health and complimenting the Regional Roundtable events being held across Queensland.
