The Queensland Family and Child Commission is proud to again sponsor the Young, Black and Proud scholarships (YBPS) with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Health Service (ATSICHS) Brisbane to give young Indigenous Queenslanders a chance to pursue their dreams.
The scholarships support the aspirations of young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who require financial support for schooling, university, the arts or sporting activities.
Previous year’s winners have used the scholarships to develop their talents and abilities as great sportspeople, musicians, actors, dancers, lawyers, scientists and leaders in other walks of life.
The Young, Black and Proud scholarship program offers scholarships to the value of $1,000 and $2,000 for young Queenslanders of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent aged 25 years or younger.
Applications have now closed but keep an eye on our Facebook page to hear about all the great applicants that we have had in this round and stay tuned when we announce the winners in the coming weeks.
