This report provides information from consultations with relevant stakeholders on the social and cultural determinants of Indigenous health. The key learnings from the consultations are summarised. There were four consistent themes from the consultation process. First, that central is central to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander wellbeing, both as a protector and enabler of health, and needs to be embedded in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and mainstream services. Second, racism within health and other service systems must be addressed to achieve better outcomes in health, education and employment. Third, intergenerational trauma must be acknowledged and addressed. Fourth, governments need to support long-term, coordinated, placed-based approaches that reflect community priorities and embed participation.
