Mental Health volume 1

In this draft report, The Productivity Commission presents the preliminary results of its inquiry into how people with mental ill-health (or at risk of mental ill-health) can best be supported. The report identified five areas for reform: prevention and early intervention for mental illness and suicide attempts, close critical gaps in healthcare services, investment in services beyond health (such as stable housing), assistance for people with mental illness to get into work and allow early treatment of work-related mental illness, and fundamental reform to care coordination, governance and funding arrangements.
