Using evidence in policy and programs

This paper from the Murdoch Children's Research Institute outlines an evidence informed decision-making framework to enable practitioners to achieve better outcomes for children and families.  The key messages are that evidence-informed practice involves evidence-based programs, processes and interventions that are aligned to client needs, priorities and values. Evidence-informed practice offers a holistic approach to addressing complex policy issues and helps to ensure that the services delivered to children and families, and particularly for vulnerable families, are effective.
