This research involved a mapping of support for siblings of people with disability (PWD), including current supports, needs and gaps. The research found that siblings of children and adults with disability can be very vulnerable. Many siblings had experienced health or mental health problems that they reported were a result of the stresses involved in their family situation. Sibling support needs changed over a lifetime. While they needed support to manage their own challenges, as they became older they also needed support to assist in their brother or sister having a ‘good life’.
