Preventing juvenile transitions to adult crime: A pilot study of probation interventions for older, high-risk juvenile delinquents

This research compared the recidivism risks of two groups of older, high-risk juvenile probationers over three years after they  turned 18. Those in the experimental  group received an intervention targeted at unmet basic needs before and after the  group aged out of the juvenile justice system, while participants in the second group received no intervention. The results of this pilot study showed no effects on recidivism risks, but statistically significant effects on the timing to recidivism for the group exposed to an innovative intervention.
