This paper reports on the development and implementation of an engagement process to involve Scottish children and young people in the planning and running of services provided for them. The pilot initiative presents an engagement methodology where services are jointly owned by the children and young and the adult service providers, so that children and young people are partners in service development. The authors suggest this approach which includes methods designed to appeal to children and young people and elicit meaningful feedback serves as a model of good practice for other community planning partnerships. The report includes a series of recommendations for successfully implementing the engagement process. This pilot initiative also included an evaluation.
