Mindful parenting decreases aggression, noncompliance, and self-injury in children with autism
This research examines the impact of a 12-week course in mindful parenting on their children's behaviour. Mother's mindful parenting was shown to decrease their children's aggression, noncompliance and self-injury and increased the mothers' satisfaction with their parenting skills and interaction with their children. The authors discuss possible reasons for the efficacy of the parenting program. Further research is required given the small sample size in this study.
