Evaluation of the EQUIPS domestic abuse program

This study from the NSW Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research examines the effect of commencing the EQUIPS Domestic Abuse Program on general re-offending and domestic violence related re-offending. The evaluation found the treatment effects estimated for offenders who started the program were not significantly different from zero for either general or domestic violence-related re-offending within 12 months of referral. Therefore the authors concluded there is no evidence of a treatment effect for those who start EQUIPS within 12 months of referral when compared with those offenders who were referred but did not start the program.
