Domestic violence hurts children too!

This brief article from NAPCAN describes the effects domestic violence can have on children and how to help. The effects of domestic violence on children can be wide ranging and include such behaviours as children blaming themselves for the violence, feeling helpless, becoming quiet and fearful or rude and aggressive by copying the abusive adult. They may also skip school to make sure their mother is safe. They can also display a range of stress symptoms, which will depend on the age of the child or young person.
