Building resilience in children aged 0-12: A practice guide

Beyondblue have developed this practice guide to assist practitioners to promote children's resilience and to raise community awareness of the benefits of building children's resilience. The guide  aims to create a shared understanding of children’s resilience and highlight the best ways to build resilience through everyday strategies and structured interventions. It was created for practitioners working across a broad range of settings including early childhood education and care settings, primary schools, welfare and community-based health and mental health settings. Beyondblue aims to create a common approach to promoting resilience so that the messages being taught at home, in education and other settings will reinforce each other, and help provide the best start for children. Increasing resilience among children potentially helps to prevent mental health issues both during childhood and in later life.
