CSIA’s inaugural Women’s Business Breakfast- Ignite and Unite: was held at the Brisbane Powerhouse on Friday 2 June 2017.

The guest speaker was our CEO and Principal Commissioner, Cheryl Vardon, who drew on her extensive leadership experience to  provide insights into the value of mentoring for successful leadership. She had the 58 women who attended engaged by her warmth, humour and wisdom.

Barbara Shaw, Executive Director ‎at Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services also talked about the need for mentoring and the department’s mentoring resources which will be available on its website. Through the breakfast series CSIA hopes to Ignite through learning and development and Unite through connections, networking and communication. CSIA is planning to bring the breakfast to at least 3 regional areas and will also host another Brisbane event later this year.
