Staff from the Queensland Family and Child Commission (QFCC) helped to raise the organisation’s profile at the 2015 Queensland Council of Social Services (QCOSS) conference held in Brisbane recently.
QCOSS is the statewide peak body for individuals and organisations working in the social and community services sector.
The QFCC sponsored the coffee cart during the two-day event, which provided an excellent opportunity to engage with stakeholders over a free cup of coffee while also chatting about their work challenges and priorities.
Our engagement with the social and community services sector is particularly important as we look to develop an integrated strategy around culture, capability and capacity as recommended by the Queensland Child Protection Commission of Inquiry Report.
The QCOSS conference provided a chance for newly appointed Principal Commissioner Cheryl Vardon to meet with various stakeholders and take in feedback from the sector.
The conference offered a range of panel discussions, keynote presentations and masterclasses over two days at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on October 13 and 14.
