Digital families: Managing screen time

This information paper from the e-Safety Commissioner reports on the Commissioner's latest research on how Australian parents manage their children's screen time. Just over half the parents of children and over two-thirds of those with teenagers thought their children spent too much time online. To supervise internet use, parents with children were most likely to check on them intermittently (52%), or view the child, but not what they were watching. Only 7% used parental controls and 2% did not supervise them at all.  Parents with teenagers were most likely to check on them intermittently (42%) or not supervise them at all (28%), with 8% using parental controls.
