Child safe organisations: Information for organisations on how to keep children safe

This article discusses the ten National Principles for Child Safe Organisations. These include: child safety and wellbeing is embedded in organisational leadership, governance and culture; children are informed about their rights, and participate in decisions affecting them; families and communities are informed and involved in promoting child safety and wellbeing; equity is upheld and diverse needs respected in policy and practice; and people working with children and young people are suitable and supported to reflect child safety and wellbeing values in practice. The article also details the remaining five principles and discusses the characteristics of a child safe organisation.
