Brisbane hosts ANZCCG meeting

The Australian and New Zealand Children’s Commissioners and Guardians (ANZCCG) group was hosted in Brisbane on Monday 11 November to discuss cross-jurisdictional issues and opportunities.

The ANZCCG comprises national, state and territory children and young people commissioners, guardians and advocates who focus on developing policy approaches and advocacy positions to issues that impact the children and young people growing up in our jurisdictions.

The group focused primarily on a number of priorities – child safe standards, solutions to child poverty, the establishment of a National Commissioner for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children and Young People and disability care.

The importance of jurisdictions coming together to share knowledge, solutions and information is vitally important for the wellbeing of young people across the globe, there has never been a more important time to make sure the voices of young people are at the centre of any decision.
