Andrea Lauchs is committed to improving outcomes for vulnerable children and young people across Queensland.

Andrea joined the Queensland Family and Child Commission in August 2015. Prior to this appointment, she held many positions over the 20 years employed in the human services industry.

Andrea is an experienced practitioner, holding positions in both the government and non-government sector in child protection and youth justice. She has experience working in multiple jurisdictions including the United Kingdom and New South Wales. Prior to commencing with the QFCC, Andrea was employed by the Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services for over 11 years.

Over the last 7 years, Andrea has specialised in practice improvement and program design in child protection. She has led the design and implementation of major child protection reforms in Queensland, such as the implementation of the Regional Intake Services, and the recent design and implementation of Family and Child Connect services - a key recommendation from the Child Protection Commission of Inquiry.

An accomplished public speaker, Andrea is requested to present to government and sector stakeholders on child protection and youth justice issues.
