Out of the Dark Expo

On 11 March 2017, the Out of the Dark Expo showcased some of the best ways available to help you stay safe online.

Expo attendees moved at their own pace around stalls hosted by national leaders in online safety. The Expo precinct also offered multiple Interactive Engagement Spaces that encouraged children, young people and families to learn strategies to stay safe online. Following the Expo attendees told us they:

  • intended to use the strategies learned at the Expo (100% of respondents)
  • strongly agreed or agreed attending the Expo made them more aware of the risks children face when they are using social media or interacting with others online (81% of respondents)
  • learnt useful strategies to improve online safety for their children or young people they work with (87% of respondents)
